French Navy sailor pants.
Two pairs in an excellent, small size.
I completely forgot to put these out... they are incredible favorites that I found in Paris this spring.
The fabric is simply wonderful—a cotton with great body.
It’s a military fabric with a texture that is both soft and durable.
I have worn US Navy sailor pants before, but this is my first time with the French version; they aren't overly wide, but have a cool, straight, thick silhouette. I was completely won over by the beautiful, clean tubular shape that drops straight down to the hem.
There is a through-slit at the waist, along with a separate large pocket.
Looking at period photographs of French Navy sailors wearing these as summer workwear, they were essentially designed for large men, so it is truly rare and exciting to have come across these small, youth/women's sizes.
There is a military spec stamp on the waist, and these were manufactured in the 1960s. Even though they are surprisingly 60 years old, they don’t feel dated at all—in a good way. This is a phenomenon that frequently happens with military gear.
The fabric, design, and size are almost identical, despite being manufactured a few years apart. The buttons are slightly different, so please compare them.
Neither pair shows much sign of wear, and both are in excellent condition with no stains.
White military pants are truly precious; if you are the right size, please don't miss out. If they don't sell, I'll wear them for the rest of my life. Haha.
