It is truly remarkable to find something from 100 years ago in such excellent condition.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eThe cutwork lace adorning the collar and sleeves is, of course, entirely handmade.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eI love that the shallow V-neck design allows you to showcase necklaces or scarves in the coming season.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe frills on the front placket conceal a button closure, making this a delightful shirt-jacket that can also be worn as an outer layer.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eThe Dorset buttons are also truly wonderful. (lol)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eI also recommend pairing it with items from completely different genres, like a band tee or denim.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eWhen people think of antique lace blouses, they usually think of France,\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003ebut the appeal of this German blouse is that the cotton fabric is sturdy and perfect for wearing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eGenerally, blouses from this era are so old that the fabric has weakened, making them prone to tearing, impossible to wash, and quite difficult to handle.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eI own many blouses that I used to wear a few years ago but can no longer wear.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eThat is why I think this blouse is truly exceptional—to be antique yet in such great condition with such durable fabric.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eThe cutwork lace, which is not as delicate as tulle, can be machine washed normally; in fact, the fabric is tough enough that you could even bleach it if it got dirty.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eAlso, the body is made of a rare cotton fabric with a pattern woven directly into the textile. It’s not thin or flimsy, but a shirt fabric with a nice, substantial thickness.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eWhile there are many recent items from the 80s and 90s that recreate antique blouses, they just can't compete with the texture of the real thing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eI highly recommend this.
