{"product_id":"60s-czechoslovakia-ash-tray-by-ditmar-urbach","title":"1960s Czechoslovakia ash tray by Ditmar Urbach","description":"\u003cp\u003eAn antique ceramic ashtray from Czechoslovakia.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt was produced in the 1960s by Ditmar Urbach (which went through several name changes), a historic European pottery studio founded as early as 1880.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWith a white base, it features a very simple design with a thick, drippy glaze in the center.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you look closely, the edges of the glaze are tinged with a subtle green—very cool.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhile much of their pottery tends to be cute, country-style tableware for the home,\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ethis kind of solid, mid-century style piece is quite rare.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt’s been a while since I’ve introduced an item in the ash tray category, so I decided to explore a new genre for us.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI acquired this from a friend who collects wonderful Czech goods.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMany of the glass items and knick-knacks I've offered at TOTO so far have also come from her;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eshe always has really great pieces.
