The material is listed as "Melana," which I believe is a type of wool. It's not a soft knit, but a dense, sturdy fabric with a crisp, firm texture.
It’s a real shame I can't have you hold them in person, but I think the moment you receive them and touch the fabric, you'll go, "Oh, I see what you mean!" Haha.
I’ve priced them this way because they lack belt loops and pockets.
If they fit your size, I highly recommend them.
