1930s French Navy Heavy Linen Smock

Outrageous French vintage.

This is the first piece I’ve managed to source; it has always been too expensive to buy, but I got lucky during my France buying trip in early August.

A 30s French Navy linen smock.

It’s hefty and thick; it feels great for the coming season rather than the height of summer.

In reality, it’s too hot for midsummer. Haha.

The size fits about a men's M, and it also looks cute on women.

There is one large pocket on the inside.

The front fastens with buttons, and I’m so happy that the original buttons and loops are still intact. Especially the loops! They are often torn, and they are a pain to replace later. With something this old, it’s really difficult to find a match that fits the vibe, so personally, I’m thrilled they remain.

The atmosphere it radiates is incredible. Personally, I’m not really a fan of linen, but this piece made me want to wear it. It looked great when I tried it on simply.

The fact that it isn’t too oversized gives it an elegant feel, and honestly, it’s just plain cool.

The way the collar opens is also perfect; it’s a wonderful garment.

I highly recommend it to anyone who fits the size. It’s so cool!!
