The other day, this is the one piece that made me scream "Whoa!!!" lol
An incredibly cool vintage piece.
It’s closer to an antique, if anything.
An acquaintance of mine reached out, and since the snow had melted, I went for a long drive to go see her, and it was honestly a little scary to run into this unexpectedly.
The purpose of the trip was furniture, but this was such a surprise, I had to laugh.
It was tossed quite high up, and just that alone gave off an overwhelming aura—or even pressure, I’d say. First off, I could tell it was impressively old, then when I touched the fabric, I realized it was incredible. Looking at the inside, I saw it was L.L. Bean, and this is only the second time I've ever seen a Bean piece from this era in person; the last time was ages ago at the Rose Bowl flea market in California.
I've loved hunting jackets and have been collecting them since high school, but this one stands out as the undisputed number one. lol
First of all, the silhouette is amazing, and for clothing from this era—especially considering its purpose as hunting gear—it’s extremely rare to find something in such good condition.
Often they are women’s cuts, but this one is properly large with a men’s cut (I don't usually worry about that, but since it's an expensive item, I'm noting it just in case). It’s amazing how alive the fabric still is. The condition of the game pocket on the back is also great.
It’s not duck canvas, but a high-density cotton fabric.
It’s crisp, almost like tent canvas. It’s a shame you can’t touch it, but please try to feel it through the photos.
There is some damage on the collar and sleeves, but this is not an issue.
