1940s US ARMY

A mountain parka issued to U.S. Army mountain troops during World War II in the 1940s.

It is reversible and made of a fantastic, high-density cotton. It's soft and easy to wear.

With this length and the double-layered fabric (due to it being reversible), it provides a decent amount of warmth.

It features a high neck and a fur-trimmed hood.

I purchased this particular piece from a dealer in Paris in the middle of summer, and I was genuinely surprised to come across U.S. military vintage there. Haha.

When I asked how they came to possess such a piece, they explained that this model was worn by the U.S. Army when crossing the mountains from southern France into Italy during WWII, and because of that historical context, 1940s (WWII) U.S. military vintage items were often found in France back in the day. That makes so much sense!! Haha.

This specific piece shows heavy signs of wear on the white side, suggesting it was used hard during cold, snowy mountain crossings.

True to the purpose for which it was designed, the construction and fabric are truly exceptional.

I believe it speaks to the difference in national power at the time, but I find myself thinking every day that U.S. military vintage is truly incredible. Haha.

Both sides have fully independent pockets, and they are deeper than you’d expect.

I’ll leave that as a pleasant surprise for when you receive and open your package. Haha.

You’ll find yourself thinking, "Oh, wow, these are actually quite deep—they hold a ton of stuff!" Haha.

Pardon the digression, but this is a very fashionable and cool garment that I recommend for both men and women.
