I got incredibly lucky recently and managed to get my hands on two of these.
Both are about the same size, which is great because they aren't too big.
The other one is being worn by a 174cm male model.
This is a camouflage pattern that was used by the East German National People's Army from the late 50s to the 60s during the Cold War. Short-lived!
It was designed with a floral motif in mind; Germany was the first country in the world to create camouflage, and it seems their development was impressive even back then. By the way, the Czech Republic also had a People's Army at the time and produced many masterpiece camouflage patterns, and there is a theory that they were inspired by German camouflage.
I stocked one of these camouflage jackets last year; it didn't sell online, but it was snapped up at an event in Osaka, and I had been wanting to buy more ever since, so I'm thrilled—honestly, beyond thrilled.
The fabric is cotton—it's easiest to imagine it as tent material—but it's not stiff; it's soft, high-density, and has a moist feel to it. Plus, these ones are relatively compact in size and easy to wear.
With this huge hood and the pockets on the front of the chest that you can access, this shape was originally designed for storing a firearm. It has more capacity than you'd think, which is a plus.
I think it's perfect for the coming season; it can handle a bit of rain, and you could probably wear it as an outer layer in fall and winter if you layer up underneath.
By the way, the hem, waist, and hood can all be adjusted with drawstrings.
Definitely take this opportunity. I want one for myself too.
