1960s German cotton smock

A cotton smock from Germany, circa the 1960s.

It's on the larger side; a smock from this era with a width of nearly 60cm is quite rare.

I mention this every time I get older smocks in, but the fabric is incredible.

It’s a high-density cotton—a truly excellent fabric. If you were to produce the same thing today, the wholesale cost would be astronomical. The cool, vintage zipper is also quite charming.

There's a drawstring on the inside to cinch the waist, so pulling it tight gives it a completely different, stylish vibe.

Smocks from the 60s and earlier have become very hard to find lately. Especially in the last two years or so.

I always wonder where they all went. Haha.

The hood is also relatively large, and I'm really fond of this smock.

Personally, I collect and regularly wear vintage smocks, but this one is just so cool. Depending on what pants you pair it with, the impression changes; I think it's a piece of vintage that you can really style. What I love most is that it’s not flashy at all.

Since it's high-gauge cotton, it can handle a fair amount of rain, too.

For the coming season, I also recommend wearing it with shorts and sneakers.

If it doesn't sell, I honestly want to keep it. Clean vintage pieces are truly cool.

This is the essence of European vintage.

It has been washed once.
