A 1970s Danish silver bracelet by N.E. FROM.
This is a beautiful bracelet featuring linked, boomerang-like pieces, created by Danish silversmith and jeweler Niels Erik From.
Niels established his workshop in 1931 and went on to become one of the great Danish designers active for over 40 years.
His early work is famous for botanical designs inspired by Scandinavian nature,
such as flowers and plants, as well as jewelry set with gemstones,
but from the 1950s to the 70s, his style transitioned toward geometric and abstract modernist designs.
This is one of those later modernist silver bracelets.
With its smooth curves and hollow, unevenly-sized links,
it is a beautiful piece that seems to let a soft breeze flow right through it.
Even the toggle clasp has been meticulously designed and crafted down to the smallest detail.
While many American, Mexican, and other European silver jewelry pieces often only carry a material stamp like "925,"
Danish jewelry, with the silversmith's or workshop's stamp engraved on each piece,
gives a stronger sense of being a special work of art.
I usually promote wonderful pieces even if they are anonymous, but I have to admit, it's nice to see a hallmark! Haha.
