1960s VWV school chart of nuclear fission

A publisher that produced nearly all textbooks, teaching materials, and educational journals in the former East Germany.

A 1960s school chart from the Volk und Wissen Verlag, commonly known as VWV.

This is a traditional roll-up wall hanging teaching aid that was actually used in classrooms.

To withstand repeated use, the paper was mounted on a linen backing;

despite some minor aging, it remains in excellent condition with no tears.

I was able to acquire a collection of these from a dealer I know.

This specific piece depicts nuclear fission through illustrations and symbols.

It features hand-drawn illustrations rather than photographs, which is characteristic of this era.

I am drawn to the touch and color choices, which evoke a certain mid-century atmosphere.

We would love to carry standard framed art, but we have concerns about shipping;

we haven't been able to offer them since one arrived completely shattered in the past. (Haha)
