These are some slightly—no, surely quite rare—Sta-Prest shorts released exclusively in Europe.
At first glance, I think very few people would guess these are Levi's Sta-Prests.
The fabric is completely different from regular twill; it has a high-end feel, almost like a summer wool suit.
It’s kind of charming how they are shorts, yet they still feature a sharp, well-defined center crease. They have a preppy, gentlemanly vibe.
I imagine they were worn at resorts back in the day, paired with leisure shirts, but these days, I think this sophisticated pair of slacks could be styled in so many different ways.
The condition is brand new, pristine deadstock, but the fact that they date back to 1969 is also incredibly exciting.
Actually, to tell you the truth, I once found a pair of these before, and they were so rare that I couldn't resist keeping them for my personal collection,
so I never thought I’d encounter another pair. After scouring Europe for five years, this is my second encounter.
I wear mine quite a bit, and the zippers work perfectly, and of course, the crease remains crisp no matter how many times you wash them.
This is an extremely connoisseur-grade piece that was only released in specific regions during a very limited period in Levi's long history.
European Levi's must still have so many more interesting finds to offer.
