Designer and silversmith Jean Dinh Van founded his own brand in 1965 after working as a jeweler at Cartier.
After years of creating high jewelry, he wanted to make something more modern and wearable in everyday life.
His creations from the late 1960s to the 1970s reflect the spirit of French modernism, art, architecture, and minimalism — and remain timeless even today.
This model is no longer made. It’s from the very early years(AD1970), crafted in 800 silver by TFres, a workshop founded in 1903.

Actually, I have introduced an anonymous piece with the exact same design before, but this time it is the original version with the hallmark.
This bangle received a great response back then as well. There is an intense beauty to its stripped-back design, and a feeling of satisfaction when wearing it that is impossible to put into words.

His works from the company's founding in 1965 through the 1970s, which incorporated the French modernism, art, architectural approaches, and minimalism of the time into jewelry, remain innovative and timeless even today.
Dinh Van later shifted his focus to high jewelry, and currently, he produces almost no silver jewelry, meaning his pieces can only be found as vintage items.
Old archival pieces are extremely limited in number; they are highly sought-after, rare items that are typically only available in France, with circulation almost entirely contained within the country.
This model was produced over several decades, but this specific piece is from the very earliest period (manufactured in 1970), made from 800 silver, and can be identified as coming from TFres, a long-established workshop founded in 1903.
Despite being such a simple and small bangle, it has a solid, dense weight of 27g.
As I mentioned, I have a strong memory of being shockingly attracted to the anonymous piece before, and I had been longing to own an original one day.
I was finally able to acquire this one after hearing from the same jeweler.
I’m not sure if I’ll ever see another one again... Personally, this is an item I wanted to own deep down. I highly recommend it.
