1980s Chevignon sheepskin jacket. France

 A signature mouton jacket from Chevignon.

I've always loved this brand; ever since I encountered it while working at a shop in Osaka years ago, I’ve been hooked. Haha

Started in France in 1979, the brand is known for making various jackets primarily based on American flight jackets. They are also sometimes called aviator jackets.

It features this signature front pocket design and incredibly high-quality mouton. It’s so soft and really comfortable to wear. Vintage real mouton is truly high quality.

As for this style, there are versions in various colors and materials—for example, ones where the two upper pockets are made of leather instead of mouton.

This particular piece is made entirely of mouton, and it's simple and looks really cool.

There's also a strange story behind this one: while on a buying trip to France the year before last, I happened to meet a man who used to work at Chevignon. He took me to his home—or rather, a warehouse—filled with pieces he had collected as a hobby, and that’s where I got this one.

He even let me have some of the items he had on display in the shop back then, which I now keep in my office. Haha

According to him, this piece is from the 80s and was very popular at the time. I can certainly see why—who wouldn't want a mouton jacket this cool? Haha

I hadn't found the right time to add it to the collection and spent a while just admiring it, but I decided it was perfect for our first drop of the new year.
