A reversible poncho in leopard-print calf hair and brown wool.
It’s such an insanely good piece of vintage that it actually leaves me speechless.
First, I want you to take a close look at the photos.
The construction and materials are truly magnificent.
At first, I thought the leopard part might be velvet, but it appears to be an incredibly short-haired calf hair.
It’s so soft and smooth that it barely even feels like fur.
It has the smoothness of high-end velvet, with a large-scale leopard print all over. It’s absolutely top-tier.
The brown wool on the reverse side is also stunning; it has the thickness and density of boiled wool, making it a masterpiece in its own right. So sophisticated.
It features raglan sleeves with dropped shoulders and slits at the waist that allow you to reach through.
The buttons are positioned so that the silhouette holds its shape regardless of which side you wear it on.
Given the materials and construction, I don't think this was handmade, but rather a bespoke-style piece from a German furrier.
While you do see fur garments in Germany with furrier labels, I suspect this one didn't have a tag because it is a reversible cape without pockets.
In any case, it is top-class. This is truly a masterpiece!
