1983 Jan Konůpek exhibition visual

An exhibition poster for Czech artist Jan Konůpek.

Born in 1883, Jan was a symbolist painter, printmaker, and book illustrator,

best known for his early 20th-century works heavily influenced by Klimt.

This poster is from an exhibition held at the Prague City Hall Gallery between 1983 and 1984.

We are drawn to the striking monochrome visual that dominates the composition,

paired with the minimalist typography characteristic of the socialist era in Czechoslovakia.

As it is aged paper, there is some minor damage and discoloration, but this only adds to its character.

We highly recommend framing it, but if you prefer not to put holes in your walls, you can simply hang it as is.

For reference, we attached ours by applying masking tape to the four corners and then securing it with double-sided tape on top.

It will be shipped in a sturdy cardboard tube.
