Girbaud from about 30 years ago, a challenging era; these are overalls with integrated suspenders. The color is charcoal gray.
This is my favorite era of Girbaud. At the time, Girbaud and Closed were making mannish skirts and pants with suspenders.
The material and the design of the shoulder straps are quite similar to the skirt I introduced last spring; they carry the vibe of the same generation.
The block logo on the back features the name "Le Sport De〜," which I am seeing for the first time. Details are unknown, but since Girbaud had been putting effort into sports and techwear since the 80s, it wouldn't be strange for there to have been an experimental sports line. (Please feel free to point it out if anyone has more information.)
Personally, I think of these as having an urban techwear position, inspired by ski wear.
The care label has faded, but the fabric is stretchy like swimwear, likely nylon with a bit of elastane.
The lining is a bit unique; it's brushed like fleece, making it a warm and soft material. It is extremely easy to move in. It might be a bit too warm for the height of summer.
The thin suspenders are definitely going to be cute exposed in the upcoming seasons.
As mentioned above, the lining is warm, so I want to create a unique silhouette in the fall and winter by throwing a jacket over them or wearing a knit over the top.
