1998 die ärzte - XL

A 1998 tour T-shirt from the German punk band die ärzte.

Man, the print is just too cool! It’s one of my absolute favorites.

The body is somewhere between thin and medium weight—it’s nicely worn-in and has the perfect thickness.

Formed in Berlin in 1982, die ärzte enjoyed steady popularity, but

they apparently got a bit carried away (straight from Wikipedia) and just broke up in the heat of the moment. Haha.

However, after reuniting in 1993, it seems they’ve been going strong ever since.

This is a tour tee from their prime, when they were hitting #1 on the charts not only in Germany but in Switzerland and Austria as well.

The hair color really tells the story of the era and their momentum. If all the members had just had black hair, I don’t think I’d appreciate this T-shirt nearly as much.

I’ve listened to their music, and

the 1994 album "Das Beste von kurz nach früher bis jetze" was great!

It’s straight-ahead, pop-influenced punk rock. Rock music in German can actually be quite addictive, so definitely give it a listen. Haha.
