At first, I thought this was some mysterious, unfamiliar workwear, but it turned out to be a late 1930s women's ski jacket.
It seems that back then, upper-class French women would wear jackets like this with ski pants and boots to head up the mountains.
The French are just naturally stylish and far too cool...!
In any case, it is a magnificent piece of clothing, so I would like you to start by taking a look at the photos.
Your eyes are immediately drawn to the asymmetrical design: the offset double-breasted front and the breast pocket partially hidden by the lapel.
It features the soft yet crisp quality of vintage cotton, tailored into a three-dimensional shape.
Beyond the stunning silhouette when worn, the stress-free fit that moves with your body is the reason I am always so impressed by French vintage.
The way the sleeves are attached is particularly unique. This piece is so good I’d love to use it as a sample, so I will store it with great care.
The color is a faded sage green with a cool, greyish tint.
It is made of a crisp, high-density cotton with a slightly water-repellent, cool-to-the-touch feel. Although the fabric has softened with age, it is a wonderful material, much like old Ventile.
The construction of the interior is also incredible, so I made sure to take plenty of photos.
The front has a double-layer fabric construction, the back is a single layer, and the shoulders seem to have double padding, perhaps for waterproofing.
All the original buttons remain, and while there is some minor wear consistent with its age, it is in truly excellent condition.
This is a compact, cropped jacket with an elasticized waist.
A wonderful vintage piece that manages to be active while remaining undeniably feminine.

Petite women’s vintage pieces are so rare that I’m almost tempted to add this to my own collection.
