These shorts are truly cool. They are vintage.
Based on the details and material, they appear to date back to the 40s or 50s.
They are made of a tough, mid-weight cotton, and the buttons are made of compressed pressed paper.
These were used as a substitute during WWII when metal was scarce, and it's said they were adopted by the Swedish military and others.
Beyond just being old, the subtle design details on the waist and back are truly wonderful; I struggled with the urge to keep them for myself. Haha.
There are two buttons under the back waist that allow you to adjust the fit, making them a unisex "golden size" that fits from a W28 to 31.
There are no tags or stamps, but I believe they are from somewhere in Europe. These are seriously classy.
