Set of 6 1950s Czech hand-painted glass cups

There happened to be an antique shop right near where I was staying, and when I popped in to see what they had, I found these little guys in the display window.

I immediately called out to the shopkeeper, "Promiňte! (Excuse me!)," and had them take them out for me. Among all the glassware, these cups stood out with their uniquely individual character.

They feature a distinctive hand-painted pattern and a beautiful, translucent color that looks somewhere between blue and green.
When held up to the light, they look transparent, but against a white background, the color emerges.
This is the charm of Czech glass, which can express such subtle shades.

There are no corporate logos or markings of any kind,
and according to the shopkeeper, they were made by an anonymous Czech glass artisan in the 50s.
While they have the perfect functionality of everyday drinking glasses in terms of size and shape,
I think they are truly special pieces with a one-of-a-kind design that you won't see anywhere else.

They are in excellent condition with no chips at all.
There are some slight irregularities in the hand-painting and some extremely minor loss of color, but overall, the condition is good enough to be called deadstock.
