60s-70s drip glaze vase / pot

A yellow base with khaki-like green paint

dripping down from the opening.

The way it drips is just incredible.

I imagine the artist carefully calculated the amount and placement, then waited patiently for it to drip.

I found this at a market in Budapest,

and fell in love with it at first sight, especially the coloring.

It’s a ceramic piece with a strong presence that works perfectly as a vase, a watering pitcher for plants,

or simply as a decorative object.

I have sourced many pieces of Hungarian pottery from the 60s and 70s,

and I find myself increasingly drawn to their unique, vibrant use of color.

The 100-year-old Hungarian embroidery and 70s-era carpets I found at the same market were also beautifully colorful.

Looking at so many wonderful vases and selecting from them this time,

I felt that choosing a vase is much like choosing a painting.
