A special archival jumpsuit!
A navy jumpsuit by 60s-70s French designer Michele Rosier.
First and foremost, the shape is just absolutely stunning.
I initially thought it was just a regular work uniform, but when I put it on, it looked so incredibly cool that I let out a strange noise.
The slimness of the top from the waist up, combined with the slightly wider yet sleek, flared cut of the pants, is truly magnificent.
It has a minimal, simple look in a deep dark navy, but the way it looks and the silhouette when worn are just insanely cool. It’s a shame you can't try it on. It made me have that slightly weird realization that clothes truly only come alive when they’re worn. A buyer featured on the show "Crazy Journey" once said that truly exceptional pieces are "alive," and I really feel that this piece is genuinely alive.
This Michele Rosier was actually a fashion journalist by trade, and she also worked in the entertainment industry, directing films and writing scripts.
Although her career as a fashion designer spanned only a short period from 1962 to 1972,
she left a massive mark on history with her super challenging and daring approach to clothing design.
Having been an avid skier herself, she dedicated herself to designing ski wear. She loved vinyl—a material that wasn't at all common in the early 60s—and is actually credited with using vinyl in fashion even before Courrèges. (This is where she earned the nickname "vinyl queen.")
She also shattered the conventional idea of winter sports gear, which typically made people look bulky like teddy bears, and instead created innovative, stylish ski wear that incorporated the mid-century essence trending at the time.
Her work still feels truly cutting-edge today. It’s sparkling. I wonder why I didn't know about her until now.
I found out a book summarizing her achievements was published in 2016 and bought it immediately! Haha.

I’ve gotten pretty worked up about it, but I’m just so happy to have learned about this person’s achievements in fashion, and I’m grateful to this jumpsuit for introducing me to her.
There is no material label, but it appears to be nylon; it has that crisp, synthetic fiber feel, and while it's thin, it's quite sturdy. It has no lining, so it should be fine to wear even in the summer.
