A beautiful Bohemian glass bowl tray from 1960s Czechoslovakia.
I never tire of looking at it.
With its deep green and pink color palette and bold, flower-like design, this 1960s piece captures the synergy characteristic of Josef Hospodka’s work.
It features the unique coloring typical of Bohemian glass, combined with an organic, streamlined form.
It is overwhelmingly heavier than others, weighing nearly 2kg. I am always awestruck by the substantial weight of this thick glass.
Because the color is infused into the uneven curves and thick glass,
this beautiful object reveals different expressions depending on the viewing angle and the way light hits it.
Occasionally, even professional antique shops mislabel these as Italian Murano,
but this is undeniably a piece of Czechoslovakian glass art.
Beyond being used for small items like keys or accessories, or for holding sweets, it has a strong presence just sitting on its own.
This particular shape was also lovely for holding a thick candle.
For the first time in over half a year, I have been able to acquire a collection of Czech glass, so I am releasing them all at once.
Bohemian glass is becoming truly harder to find with each passing year; it is a precious piece of Czech history that I want to cherish.

There is some white cloudiness on the petals in places. Small bubbles and specks of dust are part of the charm of handmade glass from this era. As it is a vintage item, there are some minor scratches, but there are no cracks, and they are not bothersome. Please check the photos.
