It's been a while since I've had some vintage Czechoslovakian military gear.
This raindrop camo is so cool, isn't it? It's also known as needle camo.
The cotton material is soft and supple—the fabric quality is truly exceptional.
I usually see these available as deadstock, but this particular piece has seen quite a bit of wear.
The fabric has become even softer, giving it a great vintage feel.
It features a leopard-like base pattern printed over with needle-like rain streaks; because it's been worn in, the needle print has faded, making the base pattern appear more prominent and giving the garment a unique color.
It's a small detail, but the overall vibe is honestly just incredibly cool.
The pocket on the back is nice, too. The design is great, but it's also just really easy to use. Haha.
I put it on for the first time in a while, and it really struck me again how cool it is.
I mean, it's a piece issued in '63—that's old! Not that "old" always equals "good," but this is.
I think this will be even more valuable a few decades from now.
Among all the clothes I have, this is personally one of my absolute favorites.
It has been washed once.
