Super Czechoslovakia vintage, unusual real fur zip-up hooded park from 1960s.
This vintage piece from our beloved Czechoslovakia is simply too wonderful. It might just be the most mind-blowing piece of clothing from the Czechoslovak era I’ve ever laid eyes on.
A real fur zip-up hooded parka made in the 1960s, right in the midst of the socialist era.
With a zipper instead of buttons and a drawcord at the hem, the sporty, modern, parka-like design and silhouette are incredibly rare for something made in that period.
And above all else, it is in perfect condition in every respect, feeling completely timeless.
The fur is fluffy and clearly high quality to both the eye and the touch, and it has absolutely none of that old, musty smell characteristic of vintage fur. It’s also very supple, with none of the stiff, cracking feel of old, dried-out leather.
The zipper slides perfectly smooth, and the leather drawcord has no damage whatsoever and ties with ease. This is truly remarkable.
The dark brown design features a continuous line from the chest to the sleeves, reminiscent of the Adidas "skeleton" track jacket.
The thin brown line is crafted from the same leather material as the drawcord.
The bamboo pattern on the lining is truly lovely, offering a sense of 1960s mid-century style.
Though it is real fur, it is lighter than it looks and feels easy to throw on.
I looked up the "Kara Trutnov" tag, and it turns out it’s an existing high-end Czech leather goods manufacturer with a history dating back to around the 1940s.
Old Czech clothing is rarely encountered. Occasionally, you find something truly striking—the kind of piece you just don't come across in other Western countries.
This fur jacket was exactly that.
