Jewelry styles like Brutalism and Modernism are exploding in popularity worldwide, and honestly, I am hesitant to use those terms loosely as they have recently become rampant as mere marketing slogans.
However, this bracelet genuinely reflects the architectural philosophy of post-war Brutalism—derived from Modernism—within the realm of jewelry, while feeling like a piece born from an interpretation unique to Germany.
While there are many artists in the Scandinavian region who have translated Brutalism into jewelry, I feel that not many prominent jewelry designers from Germany are known for it.
Personally, although many German designs are influenced by that movement, I was completely unaware of designer items like this.
It is a special, one-of-a-kind piece that could only be created in that era, weaving together cultural backgrounds such as the thriving jewelry industry in the Pforzheim region, post-war design trends, and an aesthetic that transcends disciplinary boundaries.
Incidentally, I purchased this from a jeweler who always introduces me to rugged German silver; according to them, this is the work of "Oly," a brand famous in the German vintage jewelry scene that was active from the 50s to the 70s.
They are known for jewelry designs heavily influenced by Modernism and Brutalism, primarily using silver, and are said to be beloved by collectors and jewelry enthusiasts.
However, as information is scarce and I cannot be certain, I am just mentioning it here briefly.
Given that their production was not mass-market and most pieces were one-of-a-kind, the sense of uniqueness emanating from this bracelet suggests it might indeed be authentic.

Regardless of whether it is OLY or not, there is no doubt that this is a valuable piece of jewelry born in Germany during the turbulent post-war era of the 50s and 60s.
