I believe this jacket was originally part of a suit that included trousers.
The dark black and blue check pattern is cool, and the shape is impeccable.
It’s elegant, but with a bit of a rough-and-tumble edge to it.
Suits from this era are truly fantastic.
I actually bought a suit from the same era when I was back in Japan the other day.
I wore it to a wedding, got too carried away, and when I came to in the morning, the jacket was ripped!
Anyway, getting sidetracked—the material is wool, but since it’s a partially lined summer-weight tailored jacket, it doesn’t feel stiff and can be worn almost like a shirt.
I highly recommend this piece, even for those who don’t usually wear standalone jackets.
Just throw it on over your favorite T-shirt, pair it with some Levi’s and sneakers, and you're good to go.
