60s VEB knit jacket

Love it!!!

A stunningly cool women's knit from 1960s East Germany.

This color scheme is incredible. It’s just too cool.

The way the yellowish cream color accents the pitch-black base is electrifying.

This tightly knit wool is also unique to 60s knitwear.

It looks like it was well-loved, as there are a few repairs here and there upon closer inspection, but that just adds a nice character typical of these old knits. Since it’s black, they aren’t very noticeable, and the condition is great overall.

The zipper with the star logo is also cool. It works perfectly.

It works well as a warm wool knit right now, or as a layer for early spring and autumn.

Because it has a tighter fit, you can wear anything over it, and thanks to its versatile coloring and design,

I’ve been wearing this underneath the other jackets I’m releasing as well.

By the way, VEB is a designation that refers to state-owned enterprises during the East German era,

and from 1949 until its collapse in 1989, the textile industry was one of East Germany's key industries.

EOW was a knitwear factory from that time, and it seems they produced many items not only for East Germany but for export as well.

High-quality pure wool that remains in such pristine condition even now,

and a simple design that somehow lets you feel the political background of East Germany at the time;

it’s a wonderful piece of clothing where everything fuses perfectly. I’m grateful for it.
