A mechanical wristwatch from the 1970s-80s by a maker called Ruhla.
A special find I sourced from my favorite antique shop in Prague.
I found it, bought it, and am preparing it today. I love it too much. haha
A clear amber brown. It catches light and becomes translucent, but in the shade, it appears as a deep brown bordering on black.
The large, round case makes it an outstanding accessory for your wrist.
The dull, golden-brown glow of the dial also has a classy, vintage-car-like charm.
The second hand and numerals are white. The Ruhla brand logo and, barely visible below it, "made in GDR" are inscribed.
Ruhla is a manufacturer that existed in the former East Germany, founded in 1862, which produced iconic jump-hour watches and rugged watches with communist-era designs, but
as far as I have researched, coming across a pop-style watch like this is quite rare.
Most of all, this amber plastic is eye-catching. I believe the material is Lucite.
A light, durable, and tintable hardened plastic often seen in mid-century lampshades and the like.
It was commonly used for ornaments and accessories back then, and this luscious, clear quality is just irresistible.
The round plastic case framing the dial is quite large, and its thickness and cut are beautiful, so please take a look at the close-up photos.
The strap is a soft, high-quality vinyl material, so it fits smoothly on the wrist. There is no tackiness, hardening, or warping; it is in truly excellent condition.
It was surely well-cared for, but I also think the materials used back then were genuinely superior. They are completely different from those of today.
The owner of this antique shop deals with old watches regularly,
and since I received it after it had been maintained, the watch itself is in great condition.
They set the time when I bought it yesterday, and it is currently running with almost no deviation.

Condition - Despite some scuffs on the case and crystal, it is in very beautiful condition. The vinyl band is also very soft and fits the wrist well.
The watch keeps accurate time, and the mainspring is fully functional. Please use the guide below to set the time once a day.
When it arrives, wind the crown fully once and pull it out to set the time.
After that, wind it fully, slowly, at the same time every day, and adjust the time if there is any deviation.
Winding it too frequently causes the screw to wear out, which is not good for durability, so I recommend "once a day," "at the same time," and "winding slowly until the end."
