What a cool shirt.
It features an open collar, but it can be buttoned all the way up if desired.
I personally love vintage shirts with this type of collar and wear them often, but since I rarely wear them buttoned to the top, it works perfectly fine as is.
And above all, there’s this color. It’s a brown fabric with a subtle luster and a slight slub-like texture.
It also has a feel similar to champagne gold.
Because it is in deadstock condition, it still has some of the original starch, but please rest assured that this will wash out after a few laundry cycles, making the fabric softer.
One more thing: the fabric is an East German acrylic fiber called wolpyla, which feels much like washable wool to the touch.
This material was frequently used for leisure shirts and sweaters in East Germany during the 70s and 80s, and in my experience, garments made with this wolpyla are almost always exceptionally cool.
This piece isn't itchy at all, and it's a truly great, comfortable shirt.
The size balance is also great, so I highly recommend it.
