The other day, an acquaintance who runs an antique shop contacted me saying they had received something incredible.

This mid-century modern tapestry is what I found when I went to see it.

It gave me chills. Haha.

It radiates an unbelievable aura.

The wool pile is thick and substantial. It is extremely dense.

The way the colors appear is truly magnificent. It has been a long time since I encountered something this good.

The fact that it is composed entirely of warm tones is also excellent. It blends into any space with ease!

The fringe is also very well-made. It’s lovely.

It has a sturdy lining, and there are three original loops at the top for wall mounting. Please see the photos.

Also, it unusually came with a label, and while I couldn't track down the specific details, I was able to confirm it was produced in Liberec, a city located in the northern part of the Czech Republic.

I have actually visited this city before, and I recall it being a fascinating place, perhaps due to its environment located along the borders of Poland and Germany.

The culture of the 60s and 70s really differs from country to country, and in the case of Europe, I believe there are various interpretations due to the depth of its history.

In such a context, I often think that cities located near borders might be where interesting things are born, given the coming and going of various ethnicities.

That acquaintance of mine just kept insisting, "This is an amazing tapestry produced in Liberec!" Haha.

When I actually got home and looked it up, it was indeed confirmed to be from Liberec.

I couldn't figure out exactly how it was produced or distributed, but I think it is extremely rare.

I have handled and seen many tapestries from this era, but this one is on a whole different level of excellence.

I wish every day that I could find more pieces like this one. Haha.

It is a shame you cannot see the real thing, but I guarantee you will be moved when it arrives at your door. Haha.

For maintenance, I recommend removing surface dirt and air-drying it in the sun. If using a washing machine, please use the hand-wash cycle and, if possible, place it in a laundry net.
