70's VEB wool pile boa jacket
70's VEB wool pile boa jacket
Hooray! A high-quality wool boa jacket from a VEB (East German state-owned enterprise), the first one we've had in a long time.
I actually sold a deep-pile jacket from the same VEB manufacturer back in the 70s ages ago, and it was absolutely wonderful.
I'm so happy to have found another. High-quality VEB pieces really have become so rare lately.
It’s an unbleached cream white that looks just like real sheep's wool. The outer shell is 100% wool and very warm.
It’s thick and sturdy, yet soft and lightweight, making it incredibly comfortable to wear. I was able to layer a knit sweater underneath with no trouble at all.
The toggle buttons on the front are just adorable—they give it a bit of a shepherd vibe. It even comes with a spare button, which is a thoughtful touch.
The same soft, camel-colored fabric, which mimics suede, is used for the piping and under the collar. You can also wear the collar popped up.
The full lining, which extends down to the sleeves, is a lovely plaid fabric that makes it easy to put on; the quality is so high it would be cute even if worn inside out. The craftsmanship, right down to the pocket lining, is meticulous.
It has a wide, unisex fit that’s perfect for throwing on over anything. It’s also very cute worn oversized by a petite person.
The condition is excellent with no flaws to speak of. A fantastic vintage jacket.
Wool pile, fleece, and boa jackets are truly rare to find, so I highly recommend this one!
