80s ESCADA made in West Germany - W28

ESCADA, the queen that led West Germany in the 80s.

Brown leggings in a fine, high-quality velour.

Stirrup pants were popular in Eastern Europe at the time for leisure and winter sports.

While many were made of polyester, it’s quintessentially ESCADA to have used a luxurious velour material instead.

Yet, among ESCADA pieces from the same era, I personally love how simple and minimally embellished this pair is.

To be honest, stirrup pants aren't exactly trendy right now, and I think they can be a challenging style to pull off, but

the silhouette is truly excellent once you put them on; they don’t have that typical bunching around the waist and hips, and look really clean.

They are very wearable for this type of pant, and I think they’re a cool, sophisticated choice for the fashion-savvy.

They have side pockets, and the satin piping paired with ball-chain zippers is truly stylish.

I’ve seen a ton of German womenswear from this period, and I honestly believe this is exceptionally well-made. Truly.

If the stirrup straps get in the way, you can just cut them off to match the hemline, but

I used to do that all the time back in the day, but I found wearing them as-is feels fresh now.
