80's IKAT HAORI. SPECIAL.

Ikat. This is a traditional Indonesian textile characterized by these types of ikat patterns.

The tag reads "IKAT AND HAND WOVEN FABRICS. SANUL-BALI."

"gego" appears to be the brand name. It's the first time I've seen it, and at first, I thought it might be European, but as I researched, I found my way to this "IKAT" fabric.

I think it's truly fascinating that something like this would appear in Europe.

The pattern is acidic and beautiful, and the material is cotton. This IKAT fabric is light and very durable.

It seems the threads are dyed with natural botanical dyes and woven into various patterns; the term "IKAT" apparently comes from a Malay word meaning to tie or bind.

Based on the feel of the fabric and the pattern, it’s closest to a batik print. That should make it easy to visualize!

This woven fabric is wonderful. The colors and the pattern are just fantastic!

Regardless, this garment is cool.

It is a lightweight shirt-weight fabric with a polyester lining.

It is incredibly stylish. For this type of item, I believe it stands out above the rest. Please just throw it on.

It's in such good condition I wonder if it’s deadstock, has a wonderful size, and features this fabric and pattern. It even has pockets.
