The lime green toe is made of ostrich leather.
The distinctive dot-like pattern of the ostrich leather is full of character, and it is actually one of the finest types of leather, boasting 5 to 10 times the strength of cowhide.
The pale blue section is made of simple, soft cowhide.
The embroidery also uses blue and green threads, making this a rare western boot designed entirely in shades of blue and green.
The square toe is not overly angular, and the sole is sturdily stitched with a double-stitch construction (the brown color here is a nice touch, too).
The sole is rubber, so it is resistant to wear and, above all, easy to walk in.
Vintage cowboy boots often have leather soles, which can be tiring to walk in and prone to hardening, so I was pleased to find that this pair offers the specific advantages of a vintage piece like this.
