I actually had an American friend of mine source this for me remotely a little while ago.
I’ve been asking them to collect these for me for a long time, but apparently, they’re quite hard to find, even in the U.S.
I managed to get my hands on just two this time.
It’s a jacket from the 90s Nike ACG "OUTER LAYER" collection.
I'm sure many of you already know this, but I’ll give a brief explanation for my own sake as well.
ACG (All Conditions Gear) was launched by Nike in 1989 as their outdoor line.
Such a cool name, right? haha
Instead of a sports focus, it’s a line that uses outdoor-oriented, high-performance, and modern high-spec materials, and it features many truly excellent pieces.
On a personal note, I own various pieces of ACG clothing myself, and I find myself reaching for them constantly every single year. I consider it one of those brands that makes clothes that are meant to stay in your wardrobe for good.
Now, about the "outer layer" on this tag—ACG clothing of this type is generally divided into three categories. We have another ACG piece arriving today that is a "thermal layer," which is classified as mid-wear to be worn over an inner layer, while this piece is an "outer layer."
This means it’s a jacket worn as the top layer, designed with the ACG line’s high breathability to protect against various weather conditions, including rain, snow, and wind.
It’s incredible, isn't it? ACG is truly amazing. I’m reminded of that again.
This particular jacket features a pocket designed to hold an MP3 player, which is iconic for this era.
It’s a common design feature in ACG clothing—or rather, many clothes from this era—but it’s a detail I personally find very attractive. haha
The size tag says S, but it fits like a men’s L. It’s the perfect size.
There are two pockets at the waist, a gusseted pocket on the sleeve, and one inside the front placket.
The pocket inside the placket has two layers: one is a deep storage space, and the other is a compartment for an MP3 player with a path for your earphones.
