It’s a classic, but the coolness is truly timeless. I haven't worn one in a long time, and man, it’s still so cool.
I really want one for myself soon. Haha. I’d definitely wear it until it’s completely worn out, and even then, I’d keep wearing it.
This is the MK3 jacket that was issued to British military helicopter crews.
This particular piece is from 1997. I saw an MK3 from the 70s a long, long time ago, and I did a little research to remind myself what kind of jacket it really is. It seems the model was in use from the 60s all the way to 2010, and this piece is a later version.
Generally speaking, the buttons and zippers were changed to plastic, there’s padding in the utility pocket on the sleeve, and the color is slightly different—a deeper olive.
The material is high-density cotton gabardine, which has a texture similar to Ventile.
It’s fully lined with cotton, and the design of the fine details is so cool. What a great piece of clothing!
It looks incredibly cool when worn, it’s easy to handle, and it’s comfortable too.
It’s not heavy at all—what an urban military piece. Haha.
I want to throw it on casually over my favorite tee.

I think these are only going to get harder and harder to find from here on out!!
