90s UK military AFV crew vest

A vest issued to the crews of the British Army’s AFVs (Armored Fighting Vehicles) in the 1990s.

To explain the specifications: there are two large pockets on the front, and two more pockets tucked inside those. Please take a look at the photos.

Also, a zipper runs from the chest all the way around to the back; if you open it completely, there is a even larger cavity. There is also space inside the back and in the innermost layer of the front.

It has a huge storage capacity—I was honestly surprised. Haha.

All the front pockets can be opened with their zippers and secured to the sides using the attached Velcro and black circular fasteners, turning them into a stowaway system. I've taken photos of this as well, so please check them out.

As for the fabric, it’s a very tough cotton-polyester blend. It was so durable that even when using a high-heat steam iron, it barely let any heat through.

All the zippers operate smoothly.

I wore a mid-ounce long-sleeve tee underneath in these photos, but the sizing is such that it could easily accommodate a thick hoodie or knitwear.

The width can also be adjusted using the side adjusters,

so please adjust it to match your inner layers.

I’ve been personally searching for this vest for a long time; first of all, it’s incredibly cool, and above all, it’s just so convenient. I was thinking it would be great to use when I go out sourcing for inventory. Haha.

This is my first time seeing the actual item in person, and since it’s quite rare, I think it’s truly special.

It’s an interesting military piece that has even served as a sample source for various brands.
