This vest was issued to crews of British Army AFVs (Armored Fighting Vehicles) in the 1990s.
It’s a piece I personally love and use often; it’s truly fantastic.
It’s highly functional, and above all, it looks great.
To explain the specifications, there are two large pockets on the front, with two additional pockets located inside them. Please see the photos.
There is also a zipper that runs from the chest around to the back; when fully opened, it reveals an even larger cavity. There is also space inside the back panel and on the innermost side of the front.
It has a massive capacity—I was genuinely surprised. Haha.
The front pockets can be opened with the zippers and secured to the sides using the built-in Velcro and the black circular fasteners, allowing them to be tucked away. I’ve included photos of this as well, so please take a look.
As for the fabric, it’s an incredibly tough cotton-poly blend. It’s so durable that it barely conducted heat even when I used a high-temperature steam iron on it.
All zippers operate smoothly!!
I wore a mid-weight long-sleeve tee underneath for these photos, but the sizing is such that you could easily layer it over a thick hoodie or knitwear.
You can also adjust the width using the side adjusters,
so please adjust it to match your inner layers.
It’s an interesting piece of military gear that has served as a design source for many brands.
