A masterpiece of Stone Island: the Monofilament.

This distinct fabric is just incredibly cool.

We opened our showroom at the end of last December and it had been sitting in the shop for a while, but since everyone has been agonising over it and it’s still here, we’ve decided to add it to our online store.

This was originally my personal item, which I bought in Italy when I first moved to Europe.

It was popular back then, but not to the extent it is now; I remember being able to buy it without much trouble.

In the last few years, this series has become extremely rare on the market.

The transparency and the silhouette, and above all, the visual impact, are truly outstanding.

In the first place, this monofilament is a nylon thread used for things like fishing lines, tennis racket strings, and sewing garments.

Given its intended use, it is never normally used as fabric for clothing, but Stone Island decided to use it for a jacket. Haha.

I was so surprised when I first held it; I thought, "What kind of fabric is this? I've never felt anything like it." Haha.

The transparency comes from the fact that the monofilament nylon thread itself is clear, and this piece was finished in yellow through garment dyeing.

It’s a real shame you can’t touch and try it on in person, but it’s a very tough, stiff fabric. That’s what creates this fantastic silhouette.

It has a cotton lining and a very thin layer of padding.

This thinness is really great, as it allows you to enjoy it through different seasons depending on what you layer underneath.

It’s a generous XXL size, which is a nice, relaxed fit that I quite like.

The hood shape is also excellent; it’s a truly cool jacket.

It’s a bit pricey, but this is a one-of-a-kind piece that only Stone Island could produce.

Condition - The original zipper pull is missing, and a circular metal ring has been attached in its place. This allows you to open and close it without any stress, so there are no issues. For some reason, these jacket series often have the zipper pulls missing—I like to think it’s because they were so loved and worn that they’ve made their way back to the market. It’s a common occurrence, so I hope you understand. Additionally, the back of the neck area on the hood has some sun fading, but it is not very noticeable. Consider it part of its charm! For a piece of vintage Stone Island, it is in good condition!
