I was so excited to come across these, I couldn't believe it.
A piece from the Fall/Winter '82 launch; the face is cotton, with a viscose lining and padding.
The front knees and one of the belt loops feature leather suede detailing.
It’s too cool. And to top it off, it’s deadstock.
These pants were featured in the Italian magazine Mondo Uomo in the Fall/Winter of '82.
I had seen them in there before, but I was shocked to see the real thing for the first time.
C.P. Company was born in '78, and '82 was the year of Stone Island's first collection—a period historically packed with masterpieces. C.P. specifically launched the "Dutch Police" model that year, and while these don't have a definitive name, they bear a certain resemblance. I own the Dutch Police jacket myself, so I can feel the connection—it’s not just the color, but the way the suede is integrated and that slightly relaxed, almost chunky silhouette; it has that raw, rugged charm.
Being deadstock, the inseam is long, but I like wearing them cuffed.
I always wear my Bonville and Stone Island pants from this era this way; I prefer a slightly messy roll over a perfectly neat one.
They are collectible, fashionable, practical, and cool.

They’re also a fantastic size for women.
I can’t say "never," but I can safely say that without a massive stroke of luck, we won't be getting these in again.
