AW'99 Levi's All Duty Nylon Smock

This is a Levi's Europe "ALL DUTY" piece, a line that was only produced for a few years between 1998 and the early 2000s.

This particular item is from the Autumn/Winter 1999 collection and was released during the early stages of the line.

The outer shell is nylon ripstop, and it’s lined with a cotton-nylon blend. Both fabrics are outstanding. The outer nylon ripstop, in particular, is incredibly tough, yet surprisingly easy and comfortable to wear. It’s high-density, so it seems like it could handle even the heaviest downpours.

On top of that, the way the pockets are positioned is a masterstroke.

I've never seen pockets balanced like this before.

The collar shape is impeccably cool, and the diagonal zipper running across the neck, combined with the option to cinch the hem drawcord for a shorter fit, looks absolutely fantastic.

This really is such a great piece. lol

As a side note, Massimo Osti—who served as a designer for C.P. Company and Stone Island during this era—was also designing for the Levi's ICD line at the time. I can't help but feel that the planning and design team for this ALL DUTY line were influenced by him, given the details and the way the fabrics are used.

In fact, when it comes to ALL DUTY pieces from this era, to put it very colloquially: most of them make you go, "Wait, seriously? This is amazing. Oh, it's ALL DUTY? Unreal!" lol

Personally, I think this line deserves much more recognition. I can guarantee that it will only become harder to acquire in the future; the clothes are just that cool. lol

It's not just about the look; the design, materials, and form are all truly obsessive. Having handled a vast number of garments over the years, this is one brand and line that I can sincerely say is exceptional.

This is a jacket you definitely want to pick up.
