Black Yeti Après-ski boots

Simply the best! It’s been a while since we’ve had Italian Yeti boots. Jet-black goat fur. The toe is calf hair. The lining is mouton. Lightweight and easy to walk in with WINNA rubber soles. Deadstock!

They’re so perfect, there’s nothing more to say.

There’s no identifying label, but I believe these boots are likely from an Italian manufacturer called Oscar Sport.

While I was researching these, I stumbled upon another interesting piece of European culture.

Skiing is hugely popular among young people and celebrities in Europe as a winter pastime, but apparently, the party after skiing—or rather, the party itself—is just as important! Haha.

"Après-ski" is French for "after ski," and it refers to the culture of changing into these kinds of snow boots after enjoying the slopes to go drink and dance until morning!

Because of this, these winter boots, which might generally be considered "too much" for everyday wear, are sometimes called "après-ski boots."

I've lived in Europe for some time now, but I honestly didn't know this was an established cultural term.

It made me happy to realize there are still so many local customs here that we could never imagine in Japan, where we were born and raised.

It seems this company, Oscar Sport, has been making après-ski boots for over 50 years, focusing on keeping you warm in snowy mountains while maintaining ultra-high quality.

So, regarding these little Yeti friends: of course, you don’t have to wear them on snowy mountains—I’d love to see them worn as a fashion statement on the asphalt.

Anyway, the condition of this pair is just incredible. Absolutely pristine. The lining is mouton, so they are incredibly warm.

They come with decorative laces featuring suede tassels. Please check the photos.

And the WINNA soles, which I occasionally see on Italian boots like these, are fantastic.

They’re flexible rubber soles with no hardening. Durable, light, and soft. Ideal.

They are a size 40, and while my usual size is 38.5-39 (approx. 24-25cm), they weren't too big and I could wear them with room to spare! I could easily walk in them all day with regular socks.

If you use an insole or make some adjustments, I think someone who is a 24cm could wear them without any issues.

This is the second time we’ve had these super long-hair boots at TOTO, and while I truly love them, they are quite hard to come by.

I also think the color black is surprisingly rare. Highly recommended.
