Boiled wool jacket.

A jet-black, rugged boiled wool knit jacket.

I believe it's a type of Tyrolean jacket.

Boiled wool is a material often used for Tyrolean garments and is, above all else, of high quality.

It has a nice weight to it and is wonderfully warm. Even though this jacket is unlined, it’s more than enough for winter!

As for what boiled wool actually is, in terms of texture, it’s close to felt.

It’s made by applying heat and pressure to wool weave to shrink and tighten the fibers. I think that's how it goes! Haha.

Just hearing that might make you think it's stiff, but it’s surprisingly not, and you can wear it without any discomfort.

And what makes this particular piece so wonderful is the solid black color—you really just don't see this often.

It feels like a long-held wish, or perhaps the solution to the problem I always have with Tyrolean pieces—thinking, "I wish it was a little more understated." Haha.

This piece clears all those hurdles. Haha.

There are two cute, appropriately sized pockets on the front, and two large handmade pockets on the inside lining.

The size is quite large, but that adds to its charm, and I think rolling up the sleeves looks great too.

It’s a simple piece, but a fantastic item with a lot of punch, so I highly recommend it!
