This is one of the pieces I sourced in France last time. At first, I was so excited thinking, "Yes!! An old rayon jacket!", but when I took a closer look, I realized it was C.P. Company.
I’ve never seen this archive piece before; I think it’s quite a geeky item.
It’s just insane. The material tag says "VISCOSE," but to the touch, it feels like that thick, bouncy rayon from the 50s and 60s.
Since viscose is a type of rayon, that makes perfect sense.
Anyway, this fabric is amazing. It might even have more character than that old rayon I mentioned. Haha
It was difficult to capture the true color in the photos, but most of them were taken in natural light with no editing.
It looks like a very deep eggplant navy—like black that’s faded in the sun... but it has such an elegant, sexy hue.
The generous width, the beautiful drop shoulders, and the sleeve shape are honestly so good.
Combined with this fabric, it looks truly cool—it's sensual. Haha
That’s a bit too direct, but the sex appeal is practically oozing out. Haha
The ribbing is made of cotton, I believe. If you look closely, there are two different patterns; it’s incredible.
It’s a minor detail, but this design is amazing. So much work went into it. Haha
And the ribs are stiff and hold their shape well without stretching out too easily. Perfection.
The front is a camp collar with a chin strap. This combination is fascinating; it’s truly amazing!
Regarding the era, there’s no doubt it’s from the Massimo Osti period, and I suspect it’s from an 80s collection.
Anyway, this is a first-time-seen archive C.P. piece—it may be plain, but it's a wonderful jacket, so please check it out!
