C.P. Company women's SS 1999 cotton skirt

An archival piece from the precious C.P. Company Donna (women’s line).

A lightweight cotton skirt from the 1999 SS collection. It is made of an ultra-thin, piqué-like material with fine vertical stripes.

The color is a dark shade that could be perceived as either navy or grey. A cool color that doesn't cater to traditional femininity.

Anyway, C.P. Company's women’s line is just too cool, isn't it?

And it’s so rare. You really don't come across it. Since it was primarily a menswear brand, I assume production volumes were overwhelmingly low.

I don't think it was that popular back then, haha, and consequently, it has become super rare today.

This is a piece from the era when the beloved Moreno Ferrari served as the designer.

He is the creator of the special Urban Protection series that I released for the New Year, and he is one of the most popular among the brand's successive designers.

This Donna line was only produced for a very short period, as women's clothing was properly made from Romeo Gigli’s appointment in '94 until Moreno’s time.

While inheriting the legacy of C.P. Company established by Massimo Osti, I believe it was truly Moreno who built a more urban and functional image.

I own a Donna dress from the Moreno era personally, and

Moreno really creates such simple and cool clothes. Dark and cold, and that’s what makes them so cool.

While the items themselves, like skirts and dresses, are for women, there is zero feminine approach, which makes you want to wear them with a cool attitude.

I’m sure whoever buys this skirt is someone who loves C.P. or Massimo Osti, or is at least interested in them, so I hope that feeling will reach you and you’ll understand when you put it on.
