Born in the south of France, Christian Lacroix was reportedly influenced by the traditions and culture of local gypsies and bullfighters, which he incorporated into his own decorative designs.

You will be enchanted by his haute couture clothing and accessories, which evoke historical folk costumes and fine art through their vivid colors and bold ornamentation.
Remarkably, despite his talent, it is said that Lacroix never once turned a profit from the company's founding in 1988 until its bankruptcy in 2009.
I was brought to tears by the story of his final AW 2009 haute couture collection, for which Lacroix self-funded the show to support the women working for the brand,
even paying the runway models €50 each out of his own pocket.
Looking at the photos and history, it seems like such a glamorous world, and yet, despite all the "beauty" he created, it is a harsh industry indeed.
While he may not have achieved financial success, I have truly fallen in love with his body of work.
Because of the history of the fashion house, Lacroix's clothing and jewelry are both rare and highly collectible.
