black cotton cavalry shirt

It's called a cavalry shirt; apparently, the term refers to items originally worn by the cavalry that have this type of chest protector on the placket. A mentor taught me this a long time ago. I remembered it. Haha.

Personally, I really love this shirt, too! Haha.

Designed to protect the chest, it seems it was also favored by cowboys and others.

I can't help but think, though, that while it's designed to protect the chest, these buttons would probably hurt if they pressed against your chest... Haha.

That question aside, man, it's such a great design.

The color and material are perfect. The size, too! It’s a great size.

It fits around a men's L-XL, and the quality of the cotton is a soft, middle-ounce weight. It's easy to handle and is a good material.

This is a shirt you really should have one of in your collection.

Items like this are genuinely difficult to source when you're particular about size, color, and material, so I highly recommend it.

I haven't seen one in years. Haha.

Condition: Good. The cuff buttons are original, but the buttonholes are small, so it takes some force to button them. If this is a bother, making a small slit should make it smoother. Alternatively, replacing the buttons with slightly smaller ones would also be a good idea. Either way, this is not due to damage or stains, so it is not an issue.

Overall, it is in very good condition.
