An old anchor chain necklace sourced in France.
I was drawn to the large, slightly unique anchor links.
Named for their resemblance to the chains used
to secure ships and boats in harbor, this "anchor" chain
is a classic motif in France, where you can find it in a variety of styles.
This piece is made of silver-plated metal, but it is a material that sits very comfortably against the skin.
I believe jewelry with such well-designed, substantial parts should be appreciated regardless of the base material.
